![]() ![]() Darakwon made sure that their beginner books matched, and also that their intermediate books matched. If you're using Darakwon's "Korean Grammar In Use" series, then Darakwon's "2000 Essential Korean Words" is the best resource for #1. That's when the word becomes part of your vocabulary. I don't think you can consider a word as "learned", until you push it beyond step #5. Write some personal sample sentences that use the word, and get corrections.Īctively use the word in spoken conversation, and get corrections. Glance over all the alternate definitions and collocations in a dictionary.Ĭonsume some reading/listening material that uses the word. Grab a word from a high frequency word list. Personally I approach vocabulary like this: i think it's better than naver's korean-english dictionary because it offers full definitions and not 1 word translations, but naver has the advantage of many many usage examples for most words it supports a few different languages, and you can also it to just korean words and korean definitions. ![]() One more misc resource - i love this website run by the National Institute of Korean Language to look up new vocab words. memrise is similar to anki, but anki is way more powerful so i would recommend to just import the memrise decks into anki HTSK has their vocab lists there, and I believe there is a series of ~6000 words sorted by frequency somewhere in there. ![]() You can also search memrise for user-created decks. If you're married to using books, the Handbook of Korean Vocabulary is decent is basically the same thing, but in book form (way less useful imo). ![]() this site is seriously like tvtropes for me, i get lost clicking all the links and seeing all the different vocab lists. This online hanja dictionary - you can search by korean word or by hanja symbol, and get lists of words that share the same hanja root. this one is my fave, ~5000 words listed in order of frequency, with hanja where applicable most folks get the most use out of creating their own flashcards of words they come across naturally, but there are also many shared decks posted by other people on ankiweb. Korean Vocab by Evita - if you're not using the software anki, I encourage you to look into it. ![]()
